Act Boldly – Praying Hearts

Come and Join Us on Saturday, May 2, 2009

9:00 am – 3:00 pm

Dear Sisters in Christ,

Please plan to attend Spring Gathering at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Laconia, NH on Saturday, May 2.  This year’s theme is Praying Hearts - I Thessalonians 5:16-19 “Be joyful always, pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not put out the Spirit’s fire:”

            Following lunch, Sarah Dorsch will be leading us to make Anglican and Lutheran Lenten rosary beads. If you have some bead necklaces that you no longer wear, please bring them and transform them into a tangible tool to aid you with your prayers.  You may want to make one for someone serving in the military or for a shut in.

            Nominations for a co-convenor is needed to serve for the new term. Enclosed is a job description and nomination form.  Please give this important position prayerful consideration.

Please bring an in kind gift for Community Faith Based Initiative   Items needed:

  a.. new hygiene products for kids- deodorant, sanitary napkins,combs, brushes,    shampoo,

  b.. disposable diapers, pullups, wipes, shampoo, tear free kids’ shampoo,         baby lotion

  b.. twin size zippered mattress protectors 

  c.. towel, hand towel and face cloth sets

  d.. sheet sets for twin beds

  e.. bikes

  f.. fleece blankets

  g.. backpacks

  h.. NEW car seats

      An offering taken at the closing Worship Service will be split between the C.A.T.C.H program, which sends children of low income families to camp (White Mountain Ranch and Calumet) for a week to give them an opportunity to turn their lives around and head into a positive direction and Women of the ELCA .  Thrivent will match 1/3 of the expenses and offerings.

             Please return the registration form and fee of $12.00 per person (checks payable to NE Women of the ELCA) by April 25, 2009  to: Evelyn Johnson 272 Vermont Rte 14 Sharon, VT 05065-6521  The fee includes lunch and making rosary beads. Each church is requested to bring a finger dessert to be shared at lunch.  The church is fully handicap accessible.
